1. Before you fly: documents and mobile connection
e-Arrival Card or K-ETA?
Work out whether you need a travel authorization, a free arrival declaration, both in a special case, or neither. Avoid lookalike paid sites.
eSIM, SIM or pocket WiFi?
Choose by device compatibility, group size and whether you need a Korean phone number or SMS—not by the word “unlimited” alone.
2. Land at Incheon: choose the complete route
AREX, bus or taxi?
Compare the whole airport-to-door trip from your exact terminal, including the final station transfer or walk to the hotel.
Landing after 10 PM
Check the actual terminal-exit time, current night buses, official taxi surcharge and whether sleeping near the airport is more sensible.

Staying in Myeongdong
Compare AREX, the Line 4 transfer, airport limousine buses and official taxis using your terminal, luggage and exact hotel location.
Staying in Hongdae
Use the direct AREX All-Stop train when it fits, or compare bus, night-bus and official-taxi alternatives for your arrival time.
4. Pay and navigate without arrival-day surprises
Cards, cash and ATMs
Bring two cards, choose Korean won at the terminal, find a Global ATM and keep a modest cash reserve for the places that still need it.
Choose what you will tap
Separate buying a card, topping it up and tapping at the gate. Compare physical T-money, Mobile Tmoney, the Climate Card and single tickets.
Find the correct exit and branch
Search Korean names and addresses, verify a result with the phone number and save the final station exit or walking segment.
Save the hotel in Korean
Keep the Korean place name, road address, phone number and verified pin together for arrival forms, buses, taxis and late check-in.
5. Use shared spaces with confidence
Subway and bus behavior
Recognize priority and pregnancy seats, queue beside the doors, let people exit and keep luggage out of the flow.
Cafés and everyday customs
Understand seat-saving, one-drink signs, tray returns and the difference between an official rule, a venue policy and a common habit.

7. Leave Seoul by KTX
Book and retrieve the ticket
Use the official KORAIL website or app, prepare a 3-D Secure card, confirm that the ticket was issued and keep the live ticket accessible.
Check the station before payment
Do not confuse Seoul and Yongsan, Gwangmyeong and Gwangmyeongsageori, Gwangju-Songjeong and Gwangju, or the three Busan terminals.
8. Choose a destination beyond Seoul
