The short answer: from central Seoul, take the AREX all-stop train or another local route to Gimpo Airport Domestic Terminal (김포공항 국내선), then fly to Jeju International Airport (제주국제공항). From Incheon Airport, you must be eligible to enter Korea, pass immigration, collect baggage and make a ground transfer to Gimpo when the Jeju flight is on a separate ticket. The AREX Express skips Gimpo; use the all-stop train.

Routes checked July 21, 2026
The Incheon-to-Gimpo and Seoul-to-Gimpo directions resolved with both endpoints in Google Maps. Korea Airports Corporation confirms that Gimpo Airport Station connects to the Domestic Terminal and that Jeju Airport’s current limousine bus 600 uses the landside stop outside Arrivals-level Exit/Gate 5 for Jungmun and Seogwipo. Airline check-in cutoffs, baggage fees and flight prices remain airline-specific.
Why the image is not an airline or airport screenshot: booking interfaces and gate layouts change, and the airport pages are copyrighted. The original diagram shows the self-transfer decisions. Use the official links beside each step for the live screen and terminal notice.
Choose your route in one minute
| Starting point | Recommended route | Best for | Main warning |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seoul Station | AREX all-stop train to Gimpo Airport, then domestic flight | Most travelers in central Seoul | Do not board AREX Express; it skips Gimpo |
| Incheon Airport T1/T2 | AREX all-stop train to Gimpo Airport Station; follow signs to Domestic, then check in again | A same-day self-transfer with a large buffer | Not a protected connection when booked separately |
| Another Seoul district | Line 5, Line 9, AREX all-stop or taxi to Gimpo | Choosing the route nearest your hotel | Navigate to Domestic, not International Terminal |
| Jeju Airport | Local bus/taxi to Jeju City; bus 600 or another live route south | Arrival after the flight | “Jeju” alone is not a precise destination |
Route A: Seoul Station → Gimpo Airport → Jeju
At Seoul Station, follow signs for Airport Railroad / 공항철도 and choose the all-stop train toward Incheon Airport. Gimpo Airport is an intermediate stop. The assigned-seat AREX Express runs between Seoul Station and Incheon Airport without stopping at Gimpo, so it is the wrong product for this trip.
Google Maps resolved the route to 김포공항국내선. Treat its displayed time as a live estimate, not your airport arrival deadline. Add the walk from the rail platform to the terminal, airline check-in or bag drop, identification check and security.
- Check in online with the airline when eligible and save the boarding pass.
- Travel to Gimpo Airport Domestic Terminal, not the international terminal.
- Follow Domestic Departures signs and find your airline’s counter or bag-drop zone.
- Show the identification accepted by the airline for a foreign traveler; carrying the passport used for the reservation is the safest default.
- Clear security and go to the gate before the airline’s boarding cutoff, not merely before the printed departure minute.
Korea Airports Corporation notes that check-in and baggage acceptance times vary by airline. Follow the stricter cutoff shown by your airline and arrive well before it, especially when checking baggage or traveling during a weekend or holiday.
Route B: Incheon Airport → Gimpo Airport → Jeju
If your international flight and domestic Jeju flight are separate bookings, this is a self-transfer:
Confirm that you may enter Korea before buying this route. Permission to remain airside in transit at Incheon does not by itself permit you to pass immigration, collect bags and travel to Gimpo. Check your current entry eligibility with the Korea Visa Portal or the responsible Korean mission; do not rely on the rules from a previous trip.
- Land at Incheon and complete immigration.
- Collect every checked bag and complete any required customs process.
- Follow signs to Airport Railroad.
- Board the AREX all-stop train toward Seoul and get off at Gimpo Airport.
- Follow signs to the Domestic Terminal and complete a fresh airline check-in and bag drop.
- Clear domestic security and board the Jeju flight.
Do not treat a Google Maps rail estimate as your connection time. It excludes immigration uncertainty, baggage delivery, the walk to and from each station, airline check-in and security. Separate tickets normally give you no automatic rebooking if the international flight is late.
For a first visit with checked baggage, do not even consider a same-day separate flight with less than about 4½ hours after a scheduled T1 landing or 5 hours after a scheduled T2 landing before the Gimpo departure. These are editorial lower thresholds, not operator-endorsed safe connections or guarantees. Leave materially more time after a long-haul flight, at peak immigration, during bad weather or whenever a missed flight would be costly. If the consequence matters, spend the first night in Seoul and fly the next morning.
Finding Gimpo Domestic Terminal from the station
Gimpo Airport Station serves AREX, Seoul Subway Lines 5 and 9, the Seohae Line and the Gimpo Goldline. Korea Airports Corporation places the station connection on the west side of the Domestic Terminal’s first floor. Follow signs for Domestic / 국내선; do not board the free terminal shuttle merely because you see “airport.” The shuttle is useful when you are at the wrong passenger terminal, but walking the signed station connection is normally clearer after AREX.
If you accidentally reach the International Terminal, KAC lists a free airport shuttle between passenger terminals, generally operating 06:00–23:00 with intervals that vary by period. Confirm the current stop and allow the additional time; do not use the shuttle timetable to justify a tight connection.
Arriving at Jeju Airport: decide north or south
Jeju City and the north side
For Jeju City Hall, Dongmun Market or a north-side hotel, use the exact address as the destination. Local bus and taxi routes are much shorter than a transfer to Seogwipo, but the correct stop still depends on the hotel.
Jungmun and Seogwipo
Jeju Airport’s current English transport page lists airport limousine bus 600 from the landside bus stop outside the Arrivals-level Exit/Gate 5 through Jungmun resort stops and onward toward Seogwipo. At the July 2026 review, the airport listed service from 06:00 to 22:40 at 16–40 minute intervals. These are update-sensitive details: check the airport or Jeju bus page after landing.
Bus 600 does not stop at every Seogwipo hotel or attraction. The official route includes major Jungmun resorts and continues through parts of Seogwipo, while other express or local routes can be better for an address away from that corridor.
The map resolved the market as 서귀포 매일올레시장. Google chooses the live route for the selected time; use the Jeju Airport transport page and Jeju bus system for the actual stop and departure.
Paying for Jeju buses
A normal interoperable transport card such as T-money is convenient on Jeju buses. Tap when boarding and tap again when leaving so the system can calculate distance and any eligible transfer. One card can pay for several riders if you tell the driver before tapping, but a later transfer discount applies to only one person. Give each traveler a separate card when the group will transfer.
The Seoul Climate Card is not a Jeju island pass. Read the T-money, Climate Card and foreign-card guide before relying on one product across cities.
