Short answer: The 2026 Seoul Hangang pools operate from June 19 to August 30. Yeouido and Ttukseom are the full swimming-pool sites; Yanghwa, Nanji, Jamsil and Gwangnaru are water playgrounds. For a run-and-swim day, do an easy run first, change and shower, then use the pool for leisure cooling—not lap training.

The river is not the pool.
Use only an officially operated pool, water playground or registered event. Never enter the Han River for an informal swim. The seasonal pools are shallow leisure facilities and are not designed as standard lap-training pools.
Seoul Hangang pools: 2026 quick facts
| Season | June 19–August 30, 2026 |
|---|---|
| General hours | 9:00–22:00 |
| Shorter-hours sites | Yanghwa and Gwangnaru close at 18:00 |
| No-entry breaks | 12:00–13:00 and 17:30–19:00 |
| Full pools | Yeouido and Ttukseom |
| Water playgrounds | Yanghwa, Nanji, Jamsil and Gwangnaru |
| Closed in 2026 | Jamwon swimming pool |
Daily operation can still pause for heavy rain, poor water conditions, safety controls or an official event. Check the Korean Hangang Parks page on the morning of your visit.
Because the Seoul Hangang pools are seasonal outdoor facilities, same-day confirmation matters more than an old travel screenshot.
Google Maps: all six 2026 facilities
The maps below show the approximate facility areas inside very large Hangang parks. Use the current gate notice after arrival; navigating only to the park name can leave you far from the seasonal entrance.

| Water playground | KRW 3,000 | KRW 2,000 | KRW 1,000 |
Children under five enter free with physical proof of age according to the official announcement. Bring the original or accepted physical evidence rather than assuming a phone photo will be sufficient. Age definitions and discount documents should be checked on the current operator page.
Which pool should a runner choose?
Yeouido: easiest locker-to-run combination
Use Yeouinaru Runner Station for a paid T-Locker and changing room, complete an easy 3–5 km out-and-back along Yeouido Hangang Park, then return for your bag. After that, enter Yeouido Swimming Pool through its official gate, change into swimwear and shower before entering the water.
Yeouido has three pool areas, and the adult/youth water is around 1 m deep according to Seoul’s 2026 announcement. This makes it a leisure pool, not a serious lap-swim venue. The related Seoul running routes guide explains the Runner Station locker prices and honest shower limitations.
Ttukseom: river path and Seoul Forest option
Run 3–5 km on the marked Hangang path or toward Seoul Forest, then cool down before entering Ttukseom Swimming Pool. The site includes a lazy-flow area and adult, child and toddler pools, with a maximum depth around 1 m. Crowds and family use make continuous training laps impractical.
Ttukseom Fit Station announced free public showers only for a July–November 2025 pilot. Do not rely on that old service for a 2026 pool day. The seasonal pool has designated changing and shower facilities for pool users; follow the current onsite rules.
How to book and enter
- Open the official Hangang Parks swimming-pool page and confirm the date, site and weather notice.
- Use the facility’s current NAVER Map place page when online booking is offered, or buy at the onsite gate if capacity permits.
- Bring accepted age or discount proof; under-five free entry requires physical evidence.
- Arrive outside the 12:00–13:00 and 17:30–19:00 water-entry breaks.
- Pay admission, receive or check the current wristband/re-entry instructions, and locate the designated locker.
- Change into swimwear, shower, put on a swim cap and follow lifeguard directions.
Online inventory, onsite capacity and the exact ticketing interface can change. Do not buy through an unofficial resale message. The NAVER Map Korean-address guide can help you confirm the entrance rather than navigating only to the park name.
Lockers, changing rooms and showers
The official Hangang guidance directs visitors to use designated lockers and to shower before entering. Pool sites provide changing and shower facilities, but locker type, payment method, supply and any separate fee can differ by site or operator. Carry a small payment backup and ask the entrance staff if the current system is unclear.
- Keep passport, excess cash and irreplaceable valuables at the hotel when possible.
- Use only the designated changing area.
- Bring personal soap and toiletries unless the current facility explicitly provides them.
- Rinse sweat off after running before entering the pool.
- Confirm whether re-entry is allowed before leaving the gate; do not assume it is.
At Seoul Hangang pools, the pool shower is part of the pool-use workflow. It should not be confused with a public shower that anyone can use after a run without pool admission.
What to bring—and what not to bring
For Seoul Hangang pools, bring a swimsuit, swim cap, goggles, small towel, dry clothes, toiletries, water, sunscreen and shade protection that follows the site’s current tent rules. Seoul’s guidance allows a baseball cap as head covering, but a secure swim cap is the more practical choice in the water.
Do not bring training fins, snorkels, kickboards, pull buoys, hand paddles or large tubes. These seasonal leisure facilities are shared with families and children. Follow lifeguard instructions even if a piece of equipment is permitted elsewhere.
A safe run-and-swim schedule
| Time | Action |
|---|---|
| 08:00 | Store the bag and start an easy run before peak heat. |
| 08:45 | Finish, walk to cool down and hydrate. |
| 09:00 | Retrieve swim items and enter the seasonal pool. |
| 09:15 | Change, shower and begin relaxed leisure swimming. |
| 10:00 | Exit, shower, change and hydrate again. |
Adjust this example for heat, fitness and opening notices. Do not complete a hard run and jump immediately into cold water. Stop if you feel dizzy, unusually breathless or unwell. Call 119 for serious injury or immediate danger and keep the Korea emergency numbers guide available.
Heat, rain and water safety
- Avoid the hottest part of the day and reduce run intensity in high humidity.
- Check heavy-rain alerts; operations can be suspended.
- Never leave children unattended, even in shallow water.
- Do not run on the wet pool deck.
- Do not consume alcohol before running or swimming.
- Obey rest periods and exit the water when instructed.
The best Seoul Hangang pools plan is a flexible one. If weather or capacity closes the site, keep the riverside walk and move the swim to another day rather than entering the river.
Frequently asked questions
Are Seoul Hangang pools open every day in summer 2026?
The announced season is June 19–August 30 with daily operation, but heavy rain, safety controls and official notices can suspend access. Check on the day.
Can I swim laps after my run?
These shallow seasonal pools are designed for leisure and family use, not continuous lap training. Use them for relaxed cooling and follow lifeguard directions.
Can I shower without using the pool?
Do not assume so. Pool showers are for pool users inside the facility. Ttukseom’s separate public shower announcement was a 2025 pilot and requires a current-status check.
Can I leave and re-enter?
Generally plan as if re-entry is not allowed unless the current gate instruction explicitly says otherwise. Retrieve everything you need before entering.
