A ticket on your phone can still fail at the gate. For many Korean concerts, the safest rule is simple: put the actual attendee’s legal passport name on the ticket account, fanclub membership and reservation wherever the event requires a match. Bring the original ID named in the notice. Never assume a friend’s ticket, nickname or screenshot will be accepted.

Which names may need to match?
“ID check” can describe several different checkpoints. A concert may check only venue pickup, or it may connect the ticket seller, fanclub and attendee. Read the notice line by line instead of relying on what happened at another artist’s show.

A current Melon Ticket notice for EXO states that the fanclub membership name, ticket purchaser and actual attendee must match. A 2026 BABYMONSTER notice warns that a reservation-name mismatch can restrict entry. These are useful warnings, not universal promises about every concert.
Enter your passport name before you buy
Use the spelling shown in the machine-readable identity document that the event accepts. Do not casually remove a middle name, reverse the order, add a stage name or translate the name into Korean. Some platforms separate family and given-name fields; follow that platform’s labels and the event notice.
- Open the seller link inside the official artist or organizer notice.
- Check the account profile before fanclub verification or payment.
- Compare the seller name with the membership and passport.
- Save the confirmation number, but keep the live seller account accessible.
- Read the accepted-ID section again before leaving for the venue.
If your account is already verified under the wrong name, do not create random duplicate accounts during a presale. Use the seller’s official 1:1 inquiry or customer-service channel before the stated deadline. Ask whether the profile can be corrected and whether an existing reservation remains valid.
Also compare punctuation and spacing before the queue opens. A missing middle name, swapped family and given names, or an automatic nickname can look harmless but still create uncertainty at pickup. Keep a dated screenshot of the profile you used and the seller’s written response to any correction request. That record does not guarantee entry, but it gives official support enough context to answer before you travel.
Where the ID check can happen
Online account or passport verification
A global ticket page may require identity verification before fanclub verification or purchase. Processing can take time. Completing the form while seats are in your cart is too late if the sale requires an already verified account.
Fanclub presale verification

Ticket pickup or venue entry
Some events require an original physical passport plus the reservation record at pickup. Others use mobile tickets or additional identity technology. Never interpret a QR code as a guarantee that no ID will be checked. Entry and benefit booths can also apply different rules.
What to do when the names do not match
- Before purchase: stop and correct the official account through the seller’s process.
- After purchase: contact the official seller before the cancellation or correction deadline. Keep the reply.
- At the venue: bring the original accepted ID and live reservation page, but do not expect staff to override a written no-transfer rule.
- Friend or family purchase: assume it is unsafe unless the event notice explicitly permits companions or family pickup and lists the required proof.
Do not borrow an identity or buy a transferred account. Official notices can cancel proxy purchases, transfers and reservations that fail name checks. A seller screenshot, social-media promise or payment receipt does not transfer the underlying reservation.
Concert-day document check
Pack the original ID accepted by the event, not only a photo. Keep the official ticket app or mobile site logged in, save the order number offline, charge your phone and arrive before the pickup window becomes crowded. If you are collecting fanclub benefits, reread that booth’s separate proof requirements.
If your passport will expire or be replaced between purchase and the show, contact the seller early. Do not assume the old passport number, a renewal receipt or two passports will be accepted unless the event confirms the procedure.
